Interchange and the Interchange Board

Interchange is a Not-for Profit community organisation specialising in disability services. Since 1991, Interchange has been a proud pioneer of customised, flexible planning and services for West Australians with a disability across the greater Perth metro area. Over the past 5 years we have diversified our services, doubled in size and built a sustainable base for an exciting future.

Our vision is for welcoming communities that value, respect and empower people with disability. Our mission is to help people with a disability to live a good life. And, we believe that Everyone Belongs. From humble beginnings, Interchange has grown into a leading, professional and values-driven organisation providing a broad range of in-home, community-based and intermediary supports for more than 500 people with a disability across the Perth Metropolitan area. We have 280 staff and deliver $19+ million in services each year funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The Board of Interchange is comprised of a group of eight committed Directors selected for both their values alignment and extensive business and governance experience. Our Board is leading the organisation through a period of momentous change driven by growth and the transformational reform of the NDIS.

The Opportunity

Following changes to the composition of our Governance Committee the Board is recruiting for a person with clinical, care or practice governance experience to join this Committee. Governance Committee meets five times per year and comprises three Non-Executive Directors in addition to the Executive leadership team. It reports directly to the Board.

In 2023 Interchange endorsed our Clinical Governance Framework. Through this appointment Interchange seeks to bring new skills, expertise and insight as we implement this Framework. As a Board we understand legal and governance skills are the individual and collective responsibility of all Directors, and that our capability will be enhanced through the addition of specialist insights at the Governance Committee.

Whilst not a Board Director, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your governance skills and play a strategic leadership role within an organisation that is part of the exciting NDIS change. Notably, the Board has at least one vacancy due late 2024, thus the successful candidate to this role will be included in a potential Director pool for consideration in due course.

EOI close 10/03/2024. For more information, please email hello@interchangewa.org.au
