We would like to advise you that on 4 April 2020 Interchange was notified of an employee with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. The member of staff is currently at home, self-isolating and following the guidance of the WA Department of Health.
To reduce the risk of infection from COVID-19 Interchange had already implemented social distancing recommendations, one on one services and strict guidelines for staff. Through these controls we are able to respond to this incident as an isolated case.
The WA Department of Health have advised us of the infectious period. Interchange can confirm that during this period our staff member worked in a specific location with one customer and did not meet with other Interchange staff. The person we support has been directly informed of the incident and is in contact with the Department of Health.
The safety and privacy of our employee and person with disability is our main priority. To reassure you, if you have not been contacted by Interchange or the Department of Health you do not need to be concerned. This is an isolated incident.
You are still able to access your essential services from Interchange. To keep the people we support and our staff safe we actively monitor the WA Government and the Department of Health guidance to ensure our services reflect the current advice.
