COVID-19 UPDATE: New Restrictions for Perth and Peel

Main Content

Western Australia has recorded one new case of COVID-19 in the community overnight in relation to NSW travel. As a result, and until public health can confirm if the virus has spread, restrictions will come into effect immediately for the Perth-Peel region for a minimum period of three days.

Our main priority is the safety and wellbeing of our customers, employees and the general community. Based on the current government health advice our supports will be going ahead as usual. However please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the below-listed restrictions. Interchange employees will follow these restrictions, wear masks as government requests, observe physical distancing, and continue to practice good personal hygiene. We also recommend continuing to use the SafeWA App when you are out and about in the community.

Face Masks

Wearing a face mask is now mandatory for the Perth and Peel regions. It can help protect you and others and reduces the chance of passing the virus on, especially if physical distancing is difficult to maintain.

The Government restrictions include:

  • Mandatory mask wearing indoors, on public transport, and outdoors where physical distancing is not possible, primary school aged children and those who are exempt are not required to wear masks;
  • 30-person limit in all homes for private gatherings;
  • Hospitality, entertainment venues, retail, beauty/hairdressers, recreation centres and places of worship can remain open, but must comply with the 2 square metre rule, with a maximum of 150 patrons;
  • Community sport is permitted.

The Department of Health has identified potential exposure locations. Please check the list of locations and if you have been to one of the locations please follow the relevant instructions. Anyone that develops symptoms should isolate and get tested immediately. Find you nearest COVID Clinic HERE. For more information please visit the government’s COVID-19 Website.
