Employee Recognition Program ‘iThink You Are Awesome’
We think they are AWESOME, do you? The best feedback for our employees is when it comes directly from the people we support and fellow Interchangers. That’s why we have an internal and external recognition program. Within our monthly ‘iThink You Are Awesome Awards’, customers and employees alike can nominate our Interchangers for the awesome work they do. HESTA Award Finalist / Team Excellence – Disability Services
HESTA Awards just revealed Australia’s top 24 organisations and teams working in disability, allied health, aged care and community services and we are delighted to announce that Interchange are amongst the finalists for the prestigious award. Nominated in the category TEAM EXCELLENCE – DISABILITY SERVICES, the team is recognised for their significant contribution to people living with disability, including providing support to start a new life at home and in the community after incarceration.
WA Disability Support Award 2020
Finalist for the 2020 Excellence in Improving Employment Opportunities Award is Joy Rotairo from Interchange WA. Joy has been nominated for her efforts supporting many people with disability to find great jobs. Driven by a belief in the benefits of meaningful work, Joy has been described as an “absolute superstar” when it comes to helping the people she supports discover their own unique skills and talents, then identify the right job or micro business that suits them best.
Congratulations to Mark White, Winner of the 2020 Excellence in Advocacy and Rights Promotion Award.Mark, a support worker with Interchange WA was nominated by Michael and his family for his work supporting Michael to overcome his social anxiety and regain his independence. The judges also commended Mark’s advocacy and perseverance in sourcing legal representation for Michael which ultimately led to a positive outcome after an intense and stressful situation.
The People We Support
Interchange is an organisation that believes strongly in inclusion, employment and independent living. My son Christopher is also excited to go out and do different activities with his Support Worker. I am proud to say, thanks to Interchange, Chris now has his own gardening business and thrives with it. I would highly recommend Interchange to any age and guarantee you will be happy.
Interchange is an amazing service providing support to people living with a disability in Perth. Interchange is very passionate about the quality of service they provide and this is evident in their excellent employees.
Our son didn’t interact with people at all – what he achieved with the help of his Support Worker is beyond belief.
My granddaughter needed someone to help her, work together and direct her in the right way. We are so grateful for everything the team has done.
