What is PACE in the NDIS
PACE (Participant/Provider Alternative Cloud Environment), is the new NDIA customer relationship management system, built by salesforce, which will eventually replace the NDIA’s existing software. The NDIS has determined the current system as no longer fitting with the operational demands of providing effect and reliable coverage.
PACE promises a simpler and more user-friendly way for providers and customers to interact with the NDIS and handle day-to-day tasks. Leaving organisations such as Interchange with more time to provide quality supports to people with disability.
It is important to know that PACE will not fundamentally change how the NDIS operates. It will not change the NDIS Act, the fundamental structure of the NDIS nor NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission obligations.
The new system is designed to improve the interface between participants, providers, and the NDIA. The launch of a new portal and tools also means that information can be more efficiently and effectively exchanged between NDIA and providers such as support coordinators, therapists and plan managers.
The system was initially meant to be introduced from October 2023, but it has been pushed back to early 2024, and is currently in the process of being rolled out.
