When Ryan isn’t supporting people at Interchange living with disability to live a good life he can be found looking after his grandfather, going hiking or spending time with his other family members.
In the past two years at Interchange, a lot has happened for Ryan. He not only started his career in the disability sector by finishing his traineeship with us, he also grew into a role that gives him a great outlook on the future with so much to learn and experience.
Ever since starting as a disability support worker, he found that caring for someone else feels truly fulfilling and he enjoys the team spirit and supportive environment at Interchange.
Every day I get to support others to have their best day. How awesome is that? And when you focus on the best things about others, when you look past the disability, you will get to know someone much like yourself.
Going into conversations and interactions with open minds and an open heart will always be the key to a more conclusive community. Interchange operates under 4 core values; Empowerment, Individuality, Belonging and Respect. Though all are equally important, the one resonating the most with Ryan is ‘Respect’.
Respect teaches us the value to be found in our differences and shows us where to stand.
Ryan’s motto in life is: Give it your best effort, live without regrets.
Something we did not know about Ryan is that he accidentally ate caustic soda as a child and the prescribed treatment involved consuming three tubs of vanilla ice cream. Ever since he has not liked ice cream.
Thank you, Ryan. We think you are awesome!
Our awesome staff bring passion and commitment to their vital roles. We think they are amazing – but the best feedback is always the one coming directly from you.
