“When my family was searching for a disability service provider, we carefully considered our options. Luckily, a friend highly recommended Interchange, and we tried them.”
Carys reached out to Interchange for individualised support services tailored to reaching her personal goals. Carys wanted to focus on expanding her social connections, enhancing her daily living skills, and being an active member of her community.
With Cary’s goals in mind, our dedicated support workers played a crucial role in helping her achieve her goals. Through Interchange, Carys was able to access an art therapist where discovered her passion for art and writing.
“I discovered my love for art. It’s taught me how to express myself. One day, I hope to write a book,” says Carys
Carys also blossomed socially by connecting with friends and taking part in exciting community events from attending fun paint and sip-guided art classes to exploring vibrant local evening market stalls, all have been designed for individuals with diverse abilities.
Carys’ next adventure involves engaging in nature-based activities to continue supporting her in building connections with fellow young adults and furthering her social goals.
Carys lives an active and healthy lifestyle, so her Interchange support workers will often accompany her to swim training sessions and facilitate gym visits. They also provide invaluable support and training in the kitchen, enhancing Carys’ cooking prowess and ability to prepare healthy (and delicious) meals for herself.
Having achieved her initial goals, the sky is the limit for Carys. Her next goal? Securing meaningful and stable employment.
Interchange’s support workers have been a tremendous asset in Carys’ journey. They have helped her move towards achieving her goals and maintaining independence.
