Inspiring Through Everyday Moments: Tashi’s Story

Tashi has been a dedicated Support Worker at Interchange Belmont for over two years, making a meaningful impact in the lives of those he supports. His approach is grounded in compassion, flexibility, and a deep sense of purpose: qualities that have not gone unnoticed. Recently, he was nominated for recognition by a family member of a person he supports, a gesture that deeply touched him. “I am thankful and will continue to do my best,” he shared. 

For Tashi, every day is an opportunity to bring joy and fulfillment to the people he supports. He believes that the greatest achievement is simply making someone’s day better. Whether through small gestures or meaningful conversations, he finds reward in the happiness and comfort he helps create. 

What inspires Tashi most is the individuality and resilience of each person he supports.  

All the customers inspire me in different ways and I am proud to be part of their lives.”  

His work is not just a job, it’s a way to live out his values. Tashi sees his role as a chance to practice Buddhism through service, finding deep satisfaction in helping others with empathy and kindness. 

Outside of work, Tashi describes himself as fun-loving and flexible, always open to suggestions from the people he supports. His personal philosophy is rooted in growth, humility, and making the world a better place.  

I don’t have a big dream but I want to be the best version of myself and do anything possible to be part of making this world a better place for all.” 

Tashi’s journey with Interchange has been life-changing. Not only has it allowed him to support his family and pay for his tuition, but it has also helped him grow personally and professionally. He credits the leadership and supportive work environment for keeping him motivated and encouraged. 

When asked about Interchange’s core values Empowerment, Respect, Belonging, and Individuality, Tashi says he values them all.
