Find a Nurturing Home with Interchange and your NDIS Host Family

A Home That Feels Like Family

A Host Arrangement is more than just a place to live—it’s a warm, welcoming home where a person with a disability can share life with a NDIS Host Family. This unique living arrangement provides live-in support, companionship, and a true sense of belonging. Whether on a full-time basis or for short respite stays, each Host Arrangement is tailored to meet the needs of both the person with disability and the Host.

Every arrangement is different, but all share a common goal: creating a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment where genuine relationships can thrive. In addition to the support provided by the Host, rostered Support Workers can complement the arrangement, ensuring well-rounded care and assistance.

Rockingham

Individual Living Options

1 1 sqm

Offering a Granny Flat at our Host Property, with perfect space for someone who would like to maintain independent living skills.

Location: Cooloongup, Rockingham Offering: Long-term hosting

Lara lives in the quiet and welcoming suburb of Cooloongup, close to parks, shops, and public transport. The local IGA is just a short stroll away, with Rockingham town centre and the train station within walking distance—making it easy to stay connected to the community.

With a cosy granny flat (or bed-sit) on her property, Lara is offering full-time hosting in a space that’s perfect for someone wanting to build or maintain their independent living skills, with the comfort of knowing there’s friendly support nearby. Whether it’s sharing a meal, having a chat, or watching a movie together, Lara is happy to be part of the journey.

Lara lives with her cat, Padme, and sometimes her daughter visits—bringing along her playful one-year-old American Bulldog. Family is important to Lara. Her two adult children live independently, and she catches up regularly with her 87-year-old dad.

With over 10 years of experience across various roles in the disability sector—including as a host, foster carer, support worker, and employment coach—Lara brings warmth, understanding and a genuine passion for helping others thrive. She enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time in nature—especially at the beach, kayaking, snorkelling or camping. She’s also a fan of long walks and hikes (but will be the first to tell you she’s no athlete!).

Lara is looking forward to welcoming someone into her home and creating a supportive, respectful hosting arrangement where independence is encouraged, and connection comes naturally.
