Following announcements, we can confirm that the WA Government has declared a State of Emergency for Western Australia. Effective from 12.01 am Saturday, 24 April 2021 Perth metro area and Peel region will move to a 3-day lockdown, ending at 12.01 am Tuesday, 27 April.
Masks are mandatory from 6 pm, tonight for Perth and Peel residents and there are also restrictions on travel throughout WA.
Interchange has been planning for this risk and have implemented our Lockdown Plan. Disability supports are an essential service and therefore Interchange will continue to provide essential services to people who need our support during the lockdown period.
Our main priority is the safety and wellbeing of our customers, employees and the general community. Based on the current government health advice our supports will need to be restricted to:
- 1 hour of exercise outside of the home
- Essential appointments
- Essential shopping
- Supporting people in their own home
- Distance support via phone or online
Our employees follow the lockdown restrictions in place, will be wearing masks as requested by the government and will observe physical distancing and practice good personal hygiene.
