Interchange customers had a ball at the recent Mental as Anything concert, which was held at Manning Park in Hamilton Hill.
Interchange Spearwood Community Facilitator, Michelle Maley, led a team of staff who volunteered their time to support customers who wanted to attend the Saturday night concert. Staff from Supported Accommodation providers also got behind the event, with several people volunteering to attend with customers who receive Community Inclusion support from Interchange.
Michelle learned about the concert just a couple of weeks prior. So with less than two weeks to go until the big day, she sent a flyer out to as many people as possible and the response was a resounding ‘yes’.
Fast forward to the night of the concert and more than a dozen customers enjoying a boogie under the stars, supported by staff who were happy to volunteer their time. As you can see from the smiles on the faces of the customers in these photos, the night did not disappoint!
The free concert was the second hosted by the City of Cockburn as part of their Carnival of Events. After the success of this first event, Michelle and the team are keen to hit the ground running and get started on a plan for the next concert!
