A goal, I am working towards is, being able to feel independent enough, to live with one other person of my choice and my Support Workers are helping me to get closer to this goal by assisting me with food shopping trips and helping me make dinner.
‘I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you make them feel.’ She believes this to be very true and stresses how important it is to share positive energy with the others around you to empower them.
Empowerment is pure validation, a state of being in which we recognise and celebrate our own or someone else’s potential. Empowering someone makes people feel emotionally supported and guided to achieving goals.
At Interchange everyone is very welcoming and family orientated. Clare loves that she gets to work with people that are kind, caring and can have a laugh all while still getting the job done.
Fran is now comfortably leaving the safety of her home and actively seeks fun things to do out in the community. Which is giving her a sense of belonging.
